\"\"As humans, we include a lot of emotional content when we communicate with one another.\u00a0 V.E.R.N. allows us to not only have a better understanding of the emotions being conveyed<\/a> but also allows for us to develop tools to help us respond.\u00a0 V.E.R.N. results include a confidence rating on a scale of 0 \u2013 100% of the presence of a given emotion.\u00a0 With this given score, we can provide feedback to a user or system and guide them in their response.<\/p>\n

Below are a few examples of how V.E.R.N. could be used within a given setting written in Python<\/a> for simplicity\u2019s sake.\u00a0 The score being compared is just for sample purposes to demonstrate the logic you could implement within a system.\u00a0 When determining your own thresholds, it will be important to consider your own business workflow<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Medical Patient Pre-Screening<\/h1>\n

In this scenario, V.E.R.N. is reviewing responses from a pre screening survey for a hospital.\u00a0 These are commonly used to gauge a patient\u2019s mental well being prior to an appointment.\u00a0 For this example we\u2019re going to focus on responding to sadness signals and responding to them.<\/p>\n

As you can see in the example, V.E.R.N. is not providing a diagnosis but can help triage the responses from patients to qualified individuals.\u00a0 A process which would normally take a human to review prior to making passing on for another review can be directed to the appropriate staff members immediately.\u00a0 In this way V.E.R.N. can be used to expedite communicate and improve patient care.<\/p>\n
